Fun & Adventure For Whole The Family
Do the kids have boundless amounts of energy? Are they sick and tired of the usual playground equipment and seeking adventure? Well look no further than Mount Gambier’s Railway Lands Nature Play Area!
This is such a wonderful area for kids and parents alike. Climb across the logs, up and down limbs, follow the stepping stones in the creek and the lines in the labyrinth.
There are some great sculptures for the kids to play on as well. A solid redgum carved stumpy tail lizard, limestone frog and wombat as well as giant red ants that stand amongst the nature play equipment.
If you have managed to pack the scooters and push bikes there are plenty of paths and flat areas for riding safely away from traffic. A bike/walking track runs from one side of town to the other so everyone can join in the fun.
While the kids are playing the parents can fire up the free gas BBQ’s and get the sausages sizzling and once ready, eat under one of the many shelters protected from the weather.
If cooking is not your thing, pack a picnic to share or stroll across to Central Shopping Centre for a bite to eat in the food court and a bit of retail therapy.
Once you’ve tried out all the fun things at The Railway Lands and if the kids are still full of boundless energy you could try out some of the other playgrounds around Mount Gambier. The Valley Lakes playground is one of the best I’ve seen with the added bonus of free gas BBQ’s and a beautiful Conservation and Wildlife Park to wander through. Vansittart Park is another fun area for the kids, secure and set up with the latest play equipment.
So, now the kids have been taken care of and need to rest, the adults can enjoy the sights and experiences that Mount Gambier has to offer! A beautiful city well worth a visit!
