Tracking down incredible vegan eats can be a huge pain, but never fear, Mount Gambier has you covered for brekkie, lunch and even dinner. No limp lettuce with a slice of tomato in our town. Across Mount Gambier our chefs use fabulous fresh ingredients (locally grown and harvested). Throughout the year, they create dishes with flair, meals that look great and more importantly have amazing taste.
I’ve put together a few of my favourite local vegan eateries, but it is only a sample!
- Café Melzars
Cafe Melzar has an extensive menu which includes organically grown, gluten free and vegetarian and vegan dishes. The service is great, nothing is too much trouble, and their coffee is local roasted and is amongst the best in town, they also have a great selection of tea with their own blends. Well worth a visit!
- Wild Ginger
The food is always fresh, tasty and well cooked! Service fantastic and the restaurant clean and vibrant what more do you want! The lunch time specials are great value for money at $12.90, a really good helping for a lunch time price with a variety of yummy vegan dishes available. Overall highly recommended.
- Presto Eatery
A delightful Café in the heart of Mount Gambier that serves real food with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Fresh Local organic foods, plenty of healthy options and the best range of grab and go salads in town. Situated centrally, why not have your food takeaway and sit in the beautiful cave gardens adjacent… a fabulous lunch spot!! Drop in to Presto Eatery and you will be pleasantly surprised. - Bay Pizzeria
Not far from Mount Gambier is Port MacDonnell here you will find the Bay Pizzeria, The quirky Pizzeria is definitely worth the 20 minute drive to the Coast. The Pizza and views are to die for! The ambience is unreal and the antipasto platter is a must. Gluten Free, Diary Free and Vegan they can accommodate for dietary requirements. These guys love supporting local! They have a fantastic drink list too prove it, with a great selection of local wine and crafts beers and live music on the weekends featuring local artists! Bookings an absolute must!
Spoilt for choice…I think so!!
