Inspired by the exhibition of works by Barbara Hanrahan Bee-stung lips.
Join Adelaide-based artist Sally Caston as you explore Hanrahan’s techniques, understand her processes, and then create artwork inspired by the exhibition.
What is Dry Point? it is an image scratched or incised onto a plastic matrix, producing gouges and lines of various depths, and a burr that is pushed up as the plastic surface is displaced.
The scratched plate is inked up by forcing the ink deep into the grooves and allowing it to catch on the burrs, this ink is printed onto damp paper and has a typical velvety line that is created.
Combining the love of creative play in a no-pressure, relaxed, three-hour printmaking session.
No experience is necessary, all you need is the desire to learn how to create.
