Jo-ann Mckay is a survivor.
At the age of three years old, Jo-ann’s mother died, and her life suddenly and dramatically changed forever.
And so began her inescapable, hellish sentence in the ‘care’ of others.
Her life’s ambition was to publish a book about her journey through domestic violence and abuse – to find her true strong self.
She chose the genre of poetry to portray her life experiences because it says so much as in such a small space.
Written from an honest survivor’s perspective, Rise Little One, Rise, captures Jo-ann’s unique life and healing journey.
The theme is not despair, but resilience, strength, courage and glowing light of hope.
