Deluxe Winter Pies and Puds

The Post and Rail is a Cooking, Gardening & Art School located at 7 Bill James Court Compton, on a picturesque 5-acre property. Classes are held in a home kitchen designed to provide a relaxed and sociable learning experience. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, warmth, spirit of fun and love of cooking, especially the eating of delicious food with friends, old and new, after each class. Every guest in our kitchen receives a warm welcome, tea or proper coffee upon arrival, and their own apron to wear for the duration of the class. All equipment and ingredients are provided, and a copy of the recipes used during the class are emailed to guests so that they can be recreated at home. Please allow an extra 10 mins travel time from the center of Mount Gambier.
There’s nothing more comforting than a toasty warm fire on a cold day, and pulling a delicious, homemade Pie out of the oven. It’s the ultimate warm hug from the kitchen. There’s some wonderful hints and tips to take the hearty Pie to the Deluxe level, and I can’t wait to share them.
Tuesday Evening 16th May – 5pm to 8pm (SA Time) – $165 per person.
In this delicious, Deluxe Pies and Puds class, we’re going to make a duo of Deluxe Pies and two mouth-watering desserts.
First up is a Chicken, Leek and Champagne Pie. It’s as delicious as it sounds, and perfect for a special lunch or as a dinner to impress.
We’ll also make a Rustic Lamb, Ale and Rosemary Pies which will definitely get some oohs and aaahs!
Both of these pies will be encased in a golden Flaky Pastry which we’ll make from scratch.
For our desserts, there’s nothing more comforting than Self Saucing Chocolate Pudding. A total crowd pleaser, my recipe is expandable which is so handy to have in your repertoire, whether you have 2 people or 20!
Lastly, we’re going to make a Salted Caramel, Apple Tart Tatin from scratch. A show stopper dessert.
This is a definite food lovers class and I can’t wait to share these recipes and this delicious meal with you.
