What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than spending some quality time as a family. Looking for some dad approved activities to enjoy? Whether it’s casting a line, sleeping under the stars or tucking into a nice meal, Mount Gambier has what you’re looking for. We get that all dad’s are different, but to help you out we have made a list of a few ‘dad-friendly’ activities for you to enjoy.

Fishing

If fishing is what your dad’s into, we’ve got you covered. Head down to Port MacDonnell to try your luck catching a flathead, snapper or salmon. If you head a little further to Cape Douglas you might even snag a garfish, mullet, or even whiting. The key to fishing is patience, so sit back and enjoy the surroundings. If you have no luck, you can always call past the fish and chip shop on the way home.

Golfing

How about day on the green? You’re spoiled for choice in Mount Gambier with some of the country’s lushest golf courses located within the region. The Mount Gambier Golf Club and Blue Lake Public Golf Links both offer an 18 hole course. Why not pack the clubs, hire a golf cart and enjoy some quality time with dad. Keep your eyes peeled, there are regular wildlife sightings on the courses.
